Gender Equality and Diversity
We will be happy to talk to you about our work, or to advise you on any issues relating to gender or diversity.
Processes that affect society, such as demographic change, increasing internationalization and the opening up of international job markets, also affect RWTH – and they are creating greater diversity among the people who study, work, teach and do research at our university.
We at RWTH Aachen see this diversity as potential and as a great opportunity for all students, employees and the university as a whole, and we deal with it very intentionally.
In close collaboration with the Rector’s Office, our Integration Team for Human Resources, Gender and Diversity Management field office (IGaD for short) has worked since 2007 to sensitize people at every level of the university to recognize differences in a constructive way, and to provide them with incentives for actively supporting gender equality and equal opportunities.
Gender and Diversity as a Cross-Sectional Task
We consider gender and diversity management to be an important cross-sectional task. We help the central and academic institutions at RWTH incorporate gender and diversity perspectives, and we advise them on developing and implementing corresponding measures. In this way, we make an essential contribution to developing an innovative, lively university culture where diversity is welcomed and people’s individual potential is valued.
Cooperative interactions with all of the actors involved in gender and diversity-related processes form the implicit basis of our work.
