Task Force Inclusion – Shaping and further development of RWTH into an inclusive university

The Task Force (TF) Inclusion, which was founded on April 16, 2018, aims to further develop RWTH Aachen University into an inclusive university. The TF perceives itself as a body of experts from the university, which makes recommendations for the Senate and the Rectorate.

The political or legal framework, in which the work of the TF is embedded, is defined by:

  • The Social Security Statute Book IX from 2001
  • Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which entered into force in Germany in 2009
  • The recommendation "A University for Everyone" of the German Rectors' Conference, in 2009
  • The Action Plan „A Society for Everyone“ of the State Government from 2012
  • The General Equal Opportunities Act from August 14, 2006 in its current version from August 2013
  • 3 (5) of the NRW Higher Education Act from 2014: "The universities are involved in the social promotion of the students and take into account the special needs of students and employees with disabilities or chronic illness [...]."

Chaired by Prof. Dr. Ing. Gerd Ascheid and accompanied by the IGaD, which holds the management, the topics and tasks of the wg Inclusion are:
