The competitiveness of European universities will highly depend on the ability of innovation in science, quality standards in teaching and the establishment of the university in research and sciences on an international level. These goals can only be accomplished with diverse people who involve in and promote new projects and ideas. RWTH Aachen is meeting these complex challenges through the realisation of the pioneering "Mobilising People" policy which was formulated in the framework of the Institutional Strategy "RWTH 2020: Meeting Global Challenges".
The staff unit Integration Team - Human Resources, Gender and Diversity Management is a central part of the new measure "Mobilising People", which was granted in the framework of the Excellence Initiative in Germany. The Integration Team has a consultative and supportive role in the development of future activities regarding the realisation of "Mobilising People".
The future success of RWTH Aachen will highly depend on the ability to inspire, motivate and "mobilise diverse people". In order to achieve these goals the Integration Team also supports the analysis and development of new strategies and measures in different areas of the university. Existing activities will be scrutinized, coordinated und gaps identified in order to attract and retain high qualified employees on all career levels. A comprehensive incorporation of Gender and Diversity criteria in all existing and future activities for different target groups at RWTH Aachen will be crucial for the successful implementation of a management by objectives.
