Both universities will give an insight into their diversity activities and present current projects. The topic "Racial Criticism", which is currently much and also controversially discussed at universities, is the focus of the lecture by Prof. Dr. Karim Fereidooni. As an educational scientist at the Ruhr University in Bochum, he has, among other things, the research focus "Criticism of Racism in Educational Institutions".
Prof. Dr. Karim Fereidooni addresses possibilities of unlearning knowledge relevant to racism as well as building up competence critical of racism. The lecture provides answers to the question: What do individuals and institutions, especially universities, have to do in order to be critical of racism or to initiate an organizational development process that is critical of racism?
The event as well as the subsequent discussion will be moderated by Thorsten Karbach, Head of the Department of Press and Communication at RWTH.
Before and after the lecture and the discussion with Prof. Fereidooni, the Rectorate Staff Unit for Gender and Diversity and other actors of RWTH as well as the Vice Rectorate for Diversity of FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences will present current projects with posters and will be available for exchange.
The event is aimed at members of both universities and the interested public and is free of charge, personal registration is mandatory.
