ReaDy@RWTH: RWTH among the 33 universities funded by the nationwide funding initiative "Diversity at German Universities" of the BMBF and HRK
Realizing Diversity: Equal Opportunities and Diversity at RWTH Aachen University (ReaDy@RWTH): this is the title of RWTH's successful project application within the initiative "Diversity at German Universities" of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Diversity in (research) teams promotes creativity and a variety of perspectives – this has been pointed out repeatedly in diversity research. For a university like RWTH aspiring to excellence in research, teaching and operations, a strategic and appreciative approach towards diversity and the promotion of equal opportunities are decisive factors for its competitiveness and sustainability.
For the funding period from 01 June 2023 to 30 April 2024, the ReaDy@RWTH project funded by the HRK and BMBF and coordinated by IGaD aims to support the implementation of the Diversity Strategy (2022–2027), which was adopted in December 2022, and sets three implementation-accompanying priorities. These work towards the goals of the HRK initiative in a variety of ways and provide an indispensable impetus for the further development of the university's equal opportunities work and beyond.
The kick-off event of the initiative will take place in Bonn on 06 and 07 June 2023.
