RWTH receives TOTAL E-QUALITY award for equal opportunities and diversity

07/07/2020

In 2020, the TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. jury has honored RWTH Aachen University with the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for equal opportunities for the sixth time already, the additional award for diversity for the second time.

Gender and diversity are lived out as cross-cutting issues at RWTH Aachen University and are also structurally anchored with the corresponding measures. In 2005, RWTH Aachen University successfully qualified for the award in the field of equal opportunities for the first time and continues to deal intensively with the topic and the promotion of individual talents. The university's concepts for personnel development, equal opportunities and diversity have enabled it to demonstrate progress in its application for the award, which has contributed to the renewed award in 2020. The award ceremony will take place in October - if the general conditions of COVID-19 allow it.

This year, the award will be presented to a total of 56 organisations throughout Germany, of which 24 are organisations from the scientific community and 32 from industry/administration. The award is an initiative that promotes both diversity in the workplace and equal opportunities for women and men. Since 1996, the initiative has been managed by the non-profit association TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. The list with all the award-winners is available for download.
