People are not disabled, they are being disabled

15 percent of the world's population lives with a disability. Or is this world not optimally equipped for 15 percent of the world population? The sociologist Tom Shakespeare says: "Whoever talks about disability and illness always talks about the normative concepts in his society.
In conversation with Barbara Bleisch, he discusses what equality means in the face of human diversity, and how we live together when the optimized human being becomes the goal of our society.
