After the RWTH Senate unanimously approved this action plan in July, it has now been made available for download on the IGaD webpage. From the end of October, it will also be available as a printed brochure and can be ordered at .

As part of the kick-off event of the RWTH Diversity Days 2021 "Inclusion & Diversity: Looking Forward" on November 02, 2021, Prof. Dr. Irene Mittelberg (Chair of the Working Group on Inclusion) and Katrin Feldmann (Executive Director of the Working Group on Inclusion) will present the action plan in dialogue with representatives of the Working Group.

The action plan is in the context of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Social Code IX and complements in particular the inclusion agreement that has been in force at RWTH since 2019.

After an introductory explanation of terms, the initial situation of students and employees with chronic illnesses or disabilities at RWTH and the university's commitment to becoming an inclusive university are presented. This is followed by the identification of seven fields of action in four steps: vision for the year 2026, initial situation 2020, partial goals and concrete implementation measures. The action plan is concluded by an outlook on the planned implementation, evaluation and quality assurance.

The participation of all relevant stakeholders of the university was very important for the creation of the plan. It is essential for the implementation of the measures; it can only succeed together through the members of the Inclusion Working Group, especially in the context of the working groups.
