International Office shows exhibition "Standing for Freedom"

20/07/2022

RWTH Aachen University is actively committed to helping researchers who are at risk due to violence, restricted freedom of research or persecution and who can no longer work in their home countries.

All over the world, researchers often denounce abuses through their work and, in doing so, become the target of violence and repression. They are often forced into exile in order to be free, but also to continue to contribute to science. Against this background, RWTH Aachen University is committed to the worldwide Scholars at Risk network for researchers at risk who can no longer work in their home countries due to violence, restricted freedom of research or persecution.

With the support of the Institut Français Aachen, RWTH Aachen University will be showing the travelling exhibition Poser pour la Liberté / Standing for Freedom from 20 July - 4 August 2022 to draw attention to this important issue. Multilingual texts and impressive images trace the lives of scientists who were forced into exile and now live in France.

The International Office of RWTH Aachen University is showing the exhibition from 20 July to 4 August daily from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Aula Carolina, Pontstraße 7, in Aachen. Entry is free of charge.
