"Where are the Women?" - RWTH's Gender and Diversity Management has been invited to Online-Event of EAGE
Women are increasingly participating in successful graduations, yet their share is continuously decreasing the higher the career and qualification level. This development is being systematically countered by supporting the development of individually suitable career strategies, the targeted visualization of female role models, and the facilitation of access to support networks. To learn more about this challenge, the Women in Geoscience and Engineering community of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) invited Dr. Ralitsa Petrova-Stoyanov and Ramona Liedtke of RWTH's Rectorate Staff Unit IGaD to illustrate how RWTH Aachen University is creating equal opportunities for all.
Program October 25, 2022
Special attention will be paid to the TANDEMplus Mentoring Program of RWTH, which accompanies committed female postdocs* on their way to future leadership positions in science and business.
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with additional contributors. Based on their experiences, they will reflect on: what helps them achieve their career goals; which strategies support minorities for retention and advancement; what could be improved …
The EAGE Women in Geoscience and Engineering community is the network of members – both women and men – with the mission of growing a collaborative network across genders, ages and specializations, and supporting equity in the fields of geoscience and engineering. Motivational advice and mentoring, sharing career opportunities and discussing the challenges of women’s retention in the industry have been at the heart of the WGE activities since the start.
