GesMINT Kick-Off-Workshop - Development of Competence and Structures for Gender-Sensitive STEM Research

On August 18, 2022, the GesMINT project managers and the project team welcomed representatives of faculties, profile areas, clusters of excellence, the relevant teaching and research areas with a gender and diversity focus at RWTH, as well as the Equal Opportunity Office and the Equal Opportunity Commission to the kick-off event of the GesMINT project in in the Gästehaus of RWTH.

After the greeting by Prorector Prof. Sabine Brück-Dürkop and the presentation of GesMINT by the project leader Dr. Ralitsa Petrova-Stoyanov, the well-founded content-related inputs by Prorector Prof. Dr. Ute Habel as well as by Sebastian Schneider (GDI) provided valuable insights into the successful integration of the gender dimension in research designs. Under the guidance of Dr. Elke Müller, head of the research department, the questions of transfer to other research areas and the challenges there in terms of content and structure were then discussed controversially in small groups.
