Flexible Career Management (FCM) for for Women in Academia

RWTH has launched the project "Flexible Career Management for Women in Academia" (FCM) with funding from the Female Professors Program of Federal and States Governments III. The aim is to support young women scientists in their further pursuit of a scientific career by means of measures that promote compatibility of work and family responsibilities.The measures are aimed at women postdocs from all faculties of the RWTH. Depending on demand, women PhD students, women junior professors and women heads of junior research groups can also benefit from the offers.

 

Offers

  • Dual Career Coachings
    for academic couples. Special coaching offers with the focus on gender-equitable career planning, time management and compatibility of family and work/life balance.
    Coaching sessions of 3-4 hours each

  • Laboratory support by student assistants 
    in medically indicated cases (e.g. pregnancy, lactation). 
    Prerequisite: responsible faculty cannot provide this.
    Performance on application and availability of funds at IGaD

  • Network offer for women postdocs with children (and interested persons without children) 
    for exchange on the topics "Research - Family - Compatibility".
    Planned are e.g. meetings for lunch, if necessary with child care.
