Late in the afternoon of February 1, 2022, the time had come again: The mentoring programs TANDEMstud, TANDEMdok, and TANDEMplus ceremoniously started a new cycle.

A total of almost 100 mentees, mentors, and other guests accepted the invitation to the two-hour online event, which was moderated by the program coordinators Gitta Doebert and Kati Korst.

After a ceremonial greeting by the Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development, Professor Sabine Brück-Dürkop and the welcome by the head of IGaD, Dr. Ralitsa Petrova-Stoyanov, the virtual presentation of the certificates took place. In addition, there were exciting presentations by the mentees of last year's program rounds, which thus already gave the new mentees entertaining insights into what awaits them. All new female students, PhD candidates and postdocs were given ample opportunity to introduce themselves to all present.

Finally, the program participants met in virtual rooms, either to get to know each other or to further deepen their already existing network.

The admission of the new cohorts was again preceded by very successful application periods. The TANDEM programs are experiencing an ever-increasing demand and therefore there will be two groups of the mentoring program for female doctoral students for the first time in 2022.
