On October 27, 2017 the 6th PROTECA Expert Forum of the Cluster's user network took place in Aachen. The event is a cooperation of the RWTH Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics (IAW) and the work group Innovation and specialists within Aachen's „Industrie-Dialog“. The 20 entrepreneurs from the whole Euregio had the chance of a direct exchange with local scientists and the opportunity of discussing concrete questions, ideas and needs locally. Additionally, the event offered short lectures on Human-machine collaboration and the skilled workers for the production of the future, as well as best practice examples.
When dealing with the topical spectrum of Industrie 4.0 it becomes apparent that the increasing digitization greatly affects our working environment and continues to do so in the future. Especially for smaller and medium-sized businesses and people in production, this means facing new challenges and the chances connected to them. Connecting Research and Technology is the goal which PROTECA, as a network for smaller and medium-sized companies, actively attends to and wishes to sustainably support. The events take part twice a year within one of the institutes participating within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence and provide an interesting insight into the opportunities and offers to cooperate.
