Successful studies, an academic career, a fulfilling professional life – all this should be achievable for people with disabilities or special needs. We at RWTH are committed to this idea, in the spirit of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. For this reason, we have chosen “Inclusion at RWTH” as the key topic of the 2018 Days of Diversity.
We are dedicated to continuously improving the conditions of study, work, and research at RWTH so as to create equal opportunities for participation for all members of the University. To this end, in 2018, the Rectorate has established the Inclusion working group.
The aim of the groups is to take stock of current support and advising offerings and to develop strategic options for further improvement. It is our vision to provide university education as a process conducted and shaped by all and for all, regardless of whether they have impairments of disabilities or not.
We are convinced that we all benefit from an inclusive university, and so this year’s motto of the Diversity Days is apt: “Inclusion makes use stronger!”
The Integration Team – Human Resources, Gender and Diversity Management (IGaD) has organized, in collaboration with several other university institutions, a colorful program including lectures, workshops, and film screenings which provide information on existing offerings, initiatives, and points of contact at RWTH.
